- PLYMOUTH, DEVONPORT AND CORNWALL TRUSTEE SAVINGS BANK The Devonport-based Union Savings Bank had first opened a branch in East Stonehouse in 1922 and in 1926 it found permanent premises at number 72 Union Street, East Stonehouse.
When the Union Savings Bank merged with the
Plymouth and South Devon Savings
Bank and other Cornish savings banks on Thursday May 21st 1959, the branch
became part of the new
Plymouth, Devonport and Cornwall Trustee Savings Bank,
which soon closed it down and transferred its accounts to the headquarters
at Derry's Cross.
